The course is just so different than what we are used to for a US Open. It is the same for everyone and they are being paid to play. If they put up windmills tomorrow it would still be OK with me. Seems like it is just tough in a different way versus foot high rough.

    Default Fan Friendly?

Where are the fans??? seems like the fans are far away form the action and few.. Fox seems to be amping up the fan noise on TV to make the telecast more exciting. Used to seeing fairways and greens lined with fans.
    Certainly not Bethpage.

It's ok if you like watching or playing golf on a skateboard park. The fans can't close not fan friendly.

They are putting on green like ours. No wonder we are so crap at putting compared to the tour. We put on broccoli every week, they put on pool tables every week apart from this one.

The course is a farce, but it's the same farce for everybody - embrace the farce or let the farce smother you. Know what I mean Justin?

So many great course in this country....should have played one of them.

But I would like to play this place.

I'm sure it's a great course and layout. Pity about the condition which seems to make it look not as great as it really is. If Bobby Jones says he's proud of it, it must be good. Maybe he was just trying to push the boundaries which has to be a good thing.

Many of the courses for the US Open seem to be kind of homogenous. But the USGA SEEMS to have missed the mark on the condition of this one. Nevertheless all credit to them for having the clockweights to choose it.

I think that's the thing, it looks like a FUN place to play but the slopes are too ridiculous to be a championship course. Patrick Reed hit an iron shot into 4 yesterday that landed 20 yards long and left and rolled back to 10 feet. Did he hit a good shot or did he snap hook it?

I don't like the course or the setup. There are too many good shots being penalized. The colors of the grasses also make it a tough watch for me. That said I would like to play it.

As for Fox, this is just awkward. I like Norman, but Joe Buck needs to stick to baseball. The on course reporters put me to sleep, but Steve Flesch is ok. They should have made a splash and brought Ben Wright out of retirement.
