    Default Tangential

Lately I have been playing some pretty good golf (for me) with my only swing thought being "tangential".

It seems to keep me from taking my hands directly to the ball from the top.

That's a good one. For me it's keeping the right arm moving.

Tangential? Force across the shaft? Force along the shaft?

My feel/swing thought is completely opposite--keep pushing the shaft with the left h/a/s (while turning the hips while inside the right foot).

How far/long in the downswing should you try and apply this force?

Just short of lead arm parallel....pretty much to the end of the "run up."
