I was out in New Orleans last week for the Saints football game, and I figured I'd take the sticks and get a lesson from this site's namesake. Very happy I did. The guy is an excellent golf teacher and communicator, and I can't imagine anyone using TrackMan more effectively. Best part was he PICKED ME UP from my hotel and dropped me off afterward. That really struck a chord with me. Made me a fan. Thanks Brian.

No "name" teacher that I'm aware of drives more students to the airport, takes them out to dinner, spends additional time, etc than Brian.

Thanks Bryan.

It should be noted that Bryan has a spilt grip, and does not make a backswing.

I upgraded him, and did not mess with either.

TRACKMAN numbers got better (for those that don't know, that means the ball flew better).

What?

No Backswing?

here's a clip from a couple months ago, work in progress of course. i've tested it and there's no loss in clubhead speed, and it has the advantage of fewer moving parts. i've used the analogy that it's kind of like the stretch vs. windup in baseball.

BM argued that technically it "is" a backswing, and he's right. but it takes out a lot of the motion that gets golfers in trouble, guarantees a full shoulder turn, and allows you to make your final check from the top, rather than at address.

It is a backswing. You load the shaft while lower body starts downswing by finishing that last 5 percent of the backswing. If your first move really was down with no loading, I think you wouldn't it nearly so far or as well.

Or at least that's my opinion for now.

Oh yeah! love that split grip! similar to mine. But you smack that little ball better.

That ball fizzed off like a tracer bullet..V. impressive.
Bryan, did you ever have a "conventional" backswing move? And if you did, what caused you to change?
Thanks
Oliver

Did you start swinging like this after you chose your screen name?:)

How's this workin' for say 50 and in?

Love it, BTW
