Creating space for the hands and Release questions.

1). What is the easiest way to create space for the arms and hands in the downswing? 2). How does the amount of space you create in the downswing relate to your release? In other words..I swing right and come down on a steeper plane in the downswing. Not the TSP and not the elbow, I'm a tweener...

    A Very Happy Customer!

A couple of months ago I started a thread talking about my golf swing issues and my unhappiness with my development over the last few months. Here's the thread I started if you don't know what I'm talking about: An Unhappy Customer ( 1 2 3 4 5 ... Last Page) vjsinger I had a lesson with Brian...

    Masters Pick?

Who ya got as the winner this weekend? With the weather being mostly sunny and the golf course not getting much rain in the last month, with the possible exception of a chance of showers tomorrow afternoon. I pick a good ball striker and excellent putter. I pick Jim Furyk!

    An Unhappy Customer

I find your top 3 list interesting as a teacher: 1) Be the best. 2) Help people (curious, why isn't this first?) 3) Get good information out there. Since we're not being delicate, or nice. Why haven't I gotten any better since having lessons with Brian, 4 Hrs instruction and a round of golf...

Who is a Method Teacher for?

I've been a member of this forum for less than a year and have also played golf for around the same time. While not being a "seasoned veteran" of the golf swing and the game, I still have managed to really play damn well over the last couple of months and I've learned an unbelievable amount of...

Is a good Pivot more important than Clubface Control?

Lately I've taken alot of time to think alot about why golfers(amateurs) swing the way they do and how someone would go about helping them get better. I recently joined a very old and very nice golf club near my home and am learning about the members and their games. Things I see on the range...

    Sources on Clubfitting

I recently bought a book by Tom Wishon called "Common Sense Clubfitting". I have read a good bit of it in the few hours that I have had it and my review thus far is that it is REALLY AWESOME, a little pricey, but worth it. I'm sort of a Tech Gearhead for some things and this book is right up my...

More hip slide and less beer.

Here are a couple of views, a DTL and an arse view. DTL is a 7-iron, arse is a driver. Last lesson I got from Brian we worked on more of a NHA pivot so that I can get "my big ass", Brian's words, back to the ball with a better tilt. It looks to me I'm still not getting it Brian. On these swings...

How to teach the magic move.

How do you teach the transition to someone that can square the face and understands how to square it up. I'm having trouble with these concepts.."closing the gap", "hip slide", "transition", etc. Discussion of feels and what to look for on video would be of tremendous help. Thanks. -VJ

So you want to be a golf pro??, but how??

Reading the "Why isn't golf teaching better" thread has motivated me to start this thread to pick some brains. For those of you that still don't know..I haven't played golf long and I definately have the BUG..BAD too. At first, I thought that I wanted to try and play this game for a living, but...

    Tiger and his schedule.

I'm going to say this to myself 10,000 times, "I will never, ever, ever, pretend to know what the hell I'm talking about when it comes to TW's swing again". Ahh. With that said. It's early in the Tournament, but MAN he's swinging it good, which begs the question. Should Tiger simply just play...
