If a 15yr old girl was at a PGA Tour event on a Tuesday...and say whoever is 75th on the money list was hitting balls...and the girl was asked if she played golf, and she said never....and the girl was forced to say 3 things about the Tour Player's swing that she didn't like...something like, "I don't like the way he swings so hard, or his feet look funny pointing out, or his butt is stuck out too far...and the player was forced to listen and try all three...

He might WIN the event!

That is why the Tour is a horrible place to test theory about the swing, or a "teacher's" effectiveness.

ANYTHING might work.

Or the player would THINK they are doing it, but "do it right" anyway.

I didn't know better when I started; it took me a few years to realize that a tour player's endorsement of a productor method dosen't mean much of anything for the average player (or at least for myself). First, because my game isn't in the same galaxy as a tour players. Secondly, their skill level/athletecism will allow them to make a lot of things work.

I was told that about Fred Couples by...

Years ago, when I was taking lessons from a "former" top 50 teacher, he told me the same thing about Fred Couples - "He's got so much talent that almost anything you tell him to do is gonna work!"

I agree. That's why I was always skeptical of people who would dismiss a critique of Tiger Woods' swing (by people I consider pretty knowledgeable)by pointing at his won-loss record of late. Yes he won the tournament, but he may have won it with a sub-optimal swing, he's that good.
