I have lately been horrible from this distance from in the rough(especially when sitting down slightly). On the shorter shots when I try to mid-sole it the rough grabs the club face and I hit low left spinners that are kind of chunks. The longer shots I have a difficult time creating any touch/spin/ability to stop the ball. Basically the feel I get is, short and left when I try to use bounce, and long, hard and left when I try to add a little force to get it out.
I've tried swinging more left with a more open face but it just comes out so highly lofted that I have to take such a huge swing from 40 or 50 yards and outside of that it's hard to even get it there. It basically is a huge flop I think. and that's the only comfortable contact I can make but it's harder to judge.
So basically what are some techniques I could try to help with these shots, because I hit the ball far and get these shots a lot even on longer courses. It's one of the most played second shots for me and third shot on par-fives. I'm pretty much at a loss. Also I use a 58 degree cleveland with a dynamic sole grind generally for these shots.
