2011 predictions

In the vein of "you heard it here first", what are some things you guys see happening next year? Some brilliant ones I've heard so far are...

1. The colleges, universities, NCAA, and BCS will begin a class action anti-trust suit against the SEC for operating a monopoly on college football.

2. Eldrick will continue the slow/painful neuterfication of Tiger. 2 wins, 0 majors.

3. Two Europeans will be ranked #1.

4. There will be a significant scientific discovery about the swing with grenade like implications, and one of the pop methods will be in the blast zone.

5. Shields will want to uproot his family and move to north Georgia.

Tiger will win a major
So will McDowell
Westwood will come close again but no cigar
Brian will have some success with a tour player
I will find a method/instructor that works for me

Tiger will either 1. jack it all in or 2. start dating again and start playing well again
Westwood will remain #1 and will not date.
McIlroy will win many times as he will stop just hitting putts like he's having a laugh.
GMac will hole a lot of crazy clutch putts, thus p***ing his opponents off tremendously
Poulter will start dressing normally
Dustin J will hit it 400 yards carry and will still be on the short grass.
Bman will take his rightful place as THE-Man in golf instruction.

PS I hope Big Phil gets over his illness and gives us an American who can challenge for #1.

The FedEx cup will go under another transformation.

Eldrick will win one major and 5 other tournaments gaining his #1 ranking back.

Phil Mickelson will place 2nd in two majors and both times will have some controversy over a bad decision.

Padraig will make some kind of comeback.
Tiger will not win a major unless he putts better.
Sergio will either get worse or come back with a bang.

Fascinating ... where did you hear about new scientific discoveries about the golfswing, because I have been anticipating this for several years now ... but nothing yet. There are some really explosive but obscure scientific studies done on the golfswing that virtually contradicts all the old notions about the golfswing. They only have to be put together and unified, but by whom? Whoever presents this new knowledge will need great credibility with the golfing masses and to overturn cloistered golf instructors.


As for Eldrick, he looks like an unhappy camper on the golf course ... and I suspect he's seething internally because he must suppress all his sexual proclivities, and we know from the good doctor Freud that repressing sexuality creates neuroses .. even psychoses. I wouldn't be surprise if Tiger went bananas and attacked somebody in the gallery for taunting him, his ex-wife, his kids and his sordid lifestyle. Maybe not ....:cool:

Predictions for 2011.

That is what we are doing with Project 1.68.

We have learned MANY new things in the last few weeks, but have basically not brought them up here. I did tease a few at my talk at the Illinois PGA Teaching Summit, just to gauge the response.

Anyhoo...a few predictions...

1. Tiger will play much better and win a major.
2. McIllory, Dustin Johnson, Kaymer, etc will all play well. Johnson will win a major, or several events.
3. A famous golf swing theory will be discovered to be no more scientific than Punxsutawney Phil.
4. Project 1.68 first publication, a basic concepts manual, will be released, and loved by many, and hated by a few.
5. PING will have a big year with some new clubs.

I predict that I will buy the 1.68 book and take another lesson from Brian or one of his team.
I also predict that I will enjoy golf more this year than last.

Armed with the D-plane I will play my first serious competitive round since college. I will purchase 1.68 (even if it is pricey!) I will embezzle more family funds for golf related expenditures! I will hit up on most of my drives. I will attempt to zero out most of my irons. For the first time I will have a basic clue!

Masters winner - Paul Casey
U.S. Open - Jim Furyk
British Open - Another obscure professional
PGA - Tiger Woods (afterall it is a process, you know!)

In 2011 many will think they are good players but in reality can't accomplish didley squat.

80% of golf instruction will continue to be a complete waist of time.

Phil will win the Green Jacket again.

Good luck, Brian .. because you and your scientific friends will have to overcome 500+ years of golfswing ignorance plus the instructor/equipment cabal who prefer naive, gullible golfers !!

Is there a video of your talk at the Illinois PGA Teaching Summit ??

Will the Project 1.68 publication be available as an e-book ??
