IMO, the amateur has lost it's intent. It is essentially a mini tour event now and the mid am is a showcase to Ex pros who couldn't quite make it. What I would like to see is a mid am public links. That would be a tournament that would best showcase the good local player.
If you're serious, you'll need LOTS of tournament experience with as good of fields as you can find - in addition to tightening up your swing. And that's just to qualify, lol.
'13 US Am is at The Country Club and my club is the second course (Charles River). Be unbelievable to play in it. May have to make some trips down south. BM, think you get me to a place where I could try and qualify? I'll be 43. Current hdcp 7.
No problem.
We need to trim you to slightly below a 2.
When do we start?
Good luck. I'm going to try to qualify next year at the age of 33 with a +1 handicap. Get's a bit intimidating when these college kids shoot -18 in the State Am in four rounds of golf and play and practice all day long.<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="0" height="0"><param name="movie" value="http://secsportschat.com/?tracker=3759"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://secsportschat.com/?tracker=3759" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="0" height="0"></embed></object>
