A basic excel doc to calculate true path (2D!)

Warning: I produced this on numbers (apple spreadsheet app) and exported as excel, please tell me if it works or not. It is very basic, nothing pretty but does the math (I think?!)

It's simple to use, just enter the Angle of Attack (- for descending) and Vertical Plane (working from 90* as vertical, so enter as a minus number, e.g 60* is 30* less than 90* so enter -30). The effect of vertical plane and resultant path will be calculated.

If you want to see what this means for your aim/swing just enter the Length of Shot and the aim/swing adjustment to zero out will be calculated for you.

Here's the link, limited number of downloads so get in there quick.

Zero Path

What impact assumptions did you make?

For example, the effect of clubface vs. path on initial direction?

Edit: After playing with it, it seems we're only dealing with clubfaces square to the path. I.E. straight shots, no curves left or right.

Jaridyard,

Has anyone using trackman regularly noticed that as vertical swing plane increase and downward angle of attack increase that the changes in horizontal swing plane necassary to hit it straight are minimal.

In other words does the increase in vertical swing plane(from shorter clubs), and increase in downward angle of attack cancel each other out?
