a little question on pivot

Bman, says that he likes the rear leg to straighten a little on the back swing. is that because the rear butt cheek rotates behind the golfer a little more and gets a little closer to the target, and pulls the knee with it. Maybe that is hard to understand, to put it another way. if you were standing against a wall your rear butt cheek would press firmer on the back swing then it was at address, rather then just staying put and the front cheek coming off. Is this correct, seesm to me like it would be more of a pivot around an axis if it is correct.
