Looks like horizontal hinging to me...Yeah Brian, whats different?

Some comments, just for fun.

Brian,

Not too bad a swing. :D

Your feet are remaining really solidly planted during the swing.

You don’t go very deep in the backswing. Is this because you seemingly restrict severely the rotation of your hips?

Related - the lead knee remains pointing forward during the back swing; is this something you do naturally or is done on purpose?

There is just a shade of onset of a toppling over at the transition. This is just to signal the brain that you might be falling over and better start the downswing. ;)

I get the impression that you sweep the triangle through impact and beyond without much roll of the arms. If you compare with the sequence in frontmikesloc.mov, when the club is just above parallel in the through swing, you have way less roll of the arms.

Thanks guys.

This is NOT my "normal" swing.

It was just me, being a tinkerer, trying some stuff out.

Tell you what...

What do YOU want me to do, It'll take me 20 minutes on the range this afternoon, and I'll post up a different swing altogether.

Whatchawant?

I will say this...

That POST IMPACT position may be as good as anyone has ever done with the Power Package (arms/hands/club).

If I do say so myself. ;)

Brian,

Do you have the swing, the one with the hat, that was in your avatar from the "old" site?, If so, can you post it and compare the two to see the differences, if any? I've got it saved to my computer, but the image is not fluid.

I think your lead knee does make a move back.

at the top of the backswing, the head moves slightly upward and a slight tree toppling takes place.

not sure if both arms are fully extended at any point and can be camera angle.

the trail foot at the finish?

impact is fabulous.

all are just observations, whether wrong or right you let us know...

Brian,

It would be great fun if you could show us two contrasting swings – hitting and swinging.

It seemed that your head stayed pretty still throughout the stroke. Definitely a pivot powered backswing. And you added the axis tilt by shifting and rotating your hips on the downswing. Was this a concious decision about the head?

Seems that the face of the club is intersecting the plane instead of laying on it. Is there something I'm missing? Not trying to start an argument at all, I am here only to learn so please take my responses with this in mind.

How do you have such a flat wrist? What do you do in your backswing to get intoa position at the top with a left wrist as flat as yours.

Also, is that ben doyle how to build a g.o.l.f game video worth buying.

I'll second that, just hear to learn. Brian, looks like you made a conscious effort to keep the right heel on the ground. What's up with that?

No biggie, just showing a bit of a different amount of roll than my normal.

Just for fun.

It is angled hinging...Thanks. Obviously my eye is not educated enough to see that. Can you tell me how to decipher that from the video?

Angled hinging keeps "cutting through" the plane after the follow through instead of rolling back to the plane like horizontal hinging.

Haven't got to play much since Katrina.

9 rounds.

Haven't hit many balls.

Way less than 9 buckets.

But I always ticker and research....

This is a swing I made trying to do a few things I haven't done in a long time.

Pretty good Alignments, no?

http://homepage.mac.com/brianmanzella/.Movies/briannewnew.mov

Any chance of putting this up in some other format BM. I run Widows 98 on my candle powered PC and Quick Time doesn't support it. They tell me I need a fix but they cannot/will not supply it.

Brian is that as far back as you CAN take it?? (due to your shoulder injury??)

...

BTW yes great alignments....."FLATTEST LEFT WRIST IN GOLF!!"....lol....

It's true.....that's where the money is.....the meat and potatoes.....Alignments....

Everything else is details, in a way.

....

Ok....

A request eh....

How bout your best Hogan....?
