^^This helped when I went to a very neutral grip and Jim's suggestion to open up the stance line helped me a bunch. It skews the hsp to the left even if your swinging right.
i have a pretty weak grip LOL
How about the right hand?Hogan had a weak right hand grip as well.I am not suggesting going as weak as him but a lot of players use a combination of weak left but slightly strong right. There is a tendency to place the right thumb too much on the top of the shaft which strengthens the right hand.Hogan said himself the right thumb can be a swing wrecker. He often practiced swinging with the right thumb completely off the club.
There shouldn't be gap. That would mean the thumb is still placed to the right of the grip so it may still be too strong.A neutral grip will have the left thumb on top and a weak grip should have the thumb placed to the left.
i find it impossible to hit the golf ball with left thumb on top of the grip. It always has to be slightly left of the grip..
when u coming to chi-town?
Strangely, I only slice or hook with my driver and 3-wood ... so I got rid of my 3-wood, because I can't hit that thing off the deck worth a snot and replaced it with a 12º driver, which is essentially a 2-wood.
I use my jumbo-headed 10.5º driver for straight and fades ... and the 12º smaller-headed driver for draw shots. Then a year later, Phil Mickelson tried that too ... go figure. I then go into a 5- and 7-wood which I swing on a steeper plane with great results. Then hybrids and start the set at the 5-iron or 6-iron ... and four wedges ... and sometimes two putters ... (and 15 clubs in the bag!) ...![]()
