Accumulators...

So...

With this "new stuff"....

Flattening right wrist....

Power Accumulator?

Not an accumulator...

Well, by the book, flattening right wrist is associated with loss of lag pressure and somewhere in chapter 6 Homer says that loss of lag is not an accumulator because accumulator release leads to power ... here it is

"6-B-0
Clubhead Lag (6-C) is, of course, an out-of-line condition in the Power Package but is not considered an Accumulator because its "Release" is a power loss. Again, the Lag and Drag in the Pivot train (6-M-1) are out¬of-line conditions also (but not of the Power Package) and, likewise, are not "Released." Else the Swing Radius of the Stroke would be shortened - which also is a power loss"

But then Homer was working on a resisting decelaration concept so lag pressure needed to be sustained...

Mandrin puts forward good argument to suggest resisting deceleration is neither significant ( golf ball so tiny relative to clubhead force) nor possible ( clubhead is free moving object etc....)

heard it somewhere else...

i think that i have read it somewhere that flattening right wrist through impact interval does increase clubhead speed but at the cost of accuracy/ precision... can't remember where i heard it....

Hitting it further due to increased clubhead speed... but is he hitting it better?

Have you read "The 7 Laws of the golf swing" by "somebody else"( name not mentioned due to forum rules but he is Justin Rose's new coach post Lead)

He talks about the "puck release" for impact... seems to be some hockey-style metaphor (good for you Canadians!)... but involves a right wrist that starts to flatten during impact interval...

Then followed by a swivel...

Is this G.O.L.F.?
Does it matter?

I wonder whether the main thing in Brians new pattern is he is now "allowing the left wrist to stay flat" as long as physics demands ...rather than "holding the left wrist flat" just to achieve a desired alignment?

He'd have to say I guess....I just know he seems excited.

...

I haven't read that book BTW......but wait.......what......

....OOOOO!!! Puck release......I get it NOW......

;)

....

As for "is it G.O.L.F".........................it's ALL G.O.L.F.

...

And ya I'd say you are exactly right (also with the part about physics).....that seems to be the main feature in his swing....as a result of pure Swinging. Other tweaks (all of course having a lot of importance and fitting into one big picture) seem to be a more upright posture and stronger grip. (he talked about this in the I.S.R.A.D. thread)

Pretty good, bulldog.

As long as the ball thinks it stayed flat...;)

Here's the thing:

If you are truly pulling on the shaft and creating speed the clubshaft/head will overtake your hands and the left wrist will bend sooner.

If you don't, as brian said in an earlier thread, you have to slow down to allow it to stay flat for so long but you make up for it with some "hit."
