This is going to get out of hand, until he wins his next event he plays in. I know it's easy to bury Tiger after he has a bad day like today, but you guys make it sound like he's a hack. Where are you at when he hits 13 fairways and 16-17 greens and wins big events with exceptional fields, like he always has and always will. I think his instructor is looney(seriously) just like the next guy, and I'm not defending him, but today was a bad day. And don't bring up the last time I said he wasn't that bad...it was a joke guys. My point: It doesn't fricking matter who your coach is..everyone has had days like he had today..EVERYONE. Golf is hard people.

VJ- I agree with you, and yes this is going to get out of control.

But he has made a mistake this time, mistake is trying to fix what is noot broken. I think if he stays with the 2000 swing he might already have 18+ now.

Also it seems Tiger has some balance issues right now too.........does anyone else notice when he gets to the out side of his left foot he sprays it?

Not to mention the 2000 swing, which was even better than 1997. Unrelated, what happened to Michael Campbell? He disappeared since winning the US open in 2005. Anyone know? Tiger will win at Hazeltine, not to worry.

I know we all have bad days but I think the point we are making is Tiger's bad days shouldnt be as bad as they are. It is clear Haney's teachings are not allowing Tiger to reach his potential.

He has been fighting the right miss for years and will continue to do so. Even Mark James on BBC stated that Tiger and Hank should look at what they are working on

You are right..I agree about 95%, I still think it is possible to have a day like he had today, no matter what he's working on or who he's working with. He really couldn't do much of anything, he didn't even have his short game working all that well today. Brian has already stated what he would do to fix him and Phil with their full swings in a previous Blog. My point is: Do we have to continue to kick the shit out of the dead horse though? And now I'm contributing to wacking the poor Mr. Ed...I gotta stop.

Dude relax. It's news in the instruction community when the best player in the world misses the cut at a major course that measures a whopping 6800 yards. It is obvious that Tiger doesn't know as much as he thinks he does about his own golf swing.

Michael Campbell is a brilliant player, but very inconsistent. By which I mean he has periods when he is a world beater and periods when his game deserts him. He retired due to injury half way through todays round.

I think the point with Tiger, is that he too erratic off the tee and on a links course set up for an Open you won't get away with it.

Here are my opinions:

1) I am confident enough in Tom Watson's game that i just placed a bet that he is going to win.
2) This was a Par 70 golf course and GENERALLY he doesn't play par 70 courses well.
3) We all know Tiger has a swing designed to push the ball when he hits a "bad shot" because he doesn't want to miss left. But what do you get when you take that swing and try to hit "more down" on it to keep it low (hint think d-plane) ;)

Am i super surprised he missed the cut? Absolutely and if anyone says otherwise they are LIEING to you; however i never expected him to win. I mean have you played Turnberry on Tiger Woods Golf? Have you seen the narrowness of those fairways? LOL

I can't believe how different his 97 swing is from today.

Did it look that slow (and controlled) due to the camera? - I don't think so.

Here's the part I don't get. You have, among other gifts, clubface control that allows you to be in the elite golfers of all time, but at times you can't figure out where the driver should be directed to come within 50 yards of a fairway, or where you have to be in your backswing to allow you to direct the clubface to allow you to come within 50 yards of a fairway? Why can't Tiger after years now of hitting the driver "fore right" figure this one out?

Well, in any case, as a Tiger fan, the last two days have been hard to watch.

Thanks for this, Jim.
