Aiming point and FLW

Just trying to get something clear in my head...
Over the past year(ish) I've really worked hard on getting a nice flat left wrist at impact and beyond. The 'flipper' video has done wonders. The problem is that sometimes after a round my right hand/wrist is kinda sore. Not horribly, but noticeable. The feeling for me is that I'm really holding on through impact and I think that's why my right wrist seems to take the blunt of the force.

So I've thinking about the whole aiming point concept. If you get your hands to your aiming point (let's say the ball for simplicity sake) with the club way behind; Is there really any way to release the club and not have a FLW? It seems to me that once the hands have gotten to or past the ball that there is no way in the world to release the club fast enough to have it pass the hands at impact. To me, this seems like a great way to ensure a good impact position, but still be able to release the club aggressively without manipulation or that 'holding on' feeling. Is this the whole Aiming point idea, or am I way off?

Thanks! I'm trying to get this stuff sorted out for when the season finally starts here. (currently snowing!) :(

Ack snow!! (Paul knocks on wood)

There was a thread on this a while back....

I think this has been a common thing in "the TGM universe" (or at least the online one)...."holding on."

The goal really is:

(once you have everything LOADED....or while you are LoadING- for Float Loaders.....)

To get your hands and Loaded/LoadING Power Package moving AT your Aiming Point.....and to transport them TO your Release Point...

....whereupon you let everything release.

Whether you let the left wrist bend past the ball or full roll it with a flat left wrist ("wedding ring up") is up to you BTW.

...

In Flipper Brian talks about how Ben Doyle taught him to try to get his hands out over the left toe........

.....and if that's what you want to do with the shot at hand.......then transport em out over the left toe and "let it release."

...

I mentioned Loading.......the other half of that is the "storing" (WHILE you're transporting).....cause you need to be able to sustain Lag Pressure and keep that right elbow bent and keep that left wrist turned and keep that right wrist Bent and left wrist Cocked (these things are what you've Loaded...Accumulators) to do the Aiming Point stuff.

This is a bit of a chicken and egg situation too though...Aiming Point vs. sustaining Lag Pressure.....

...they are both "friends." :)

I actually started the last thread, because I've been struggling with the same problem. For me I think of the bent right wrist, flat left wrist or a place you to through, not a place you hold. I release but I pick a spot about an inch in front of the ball or so, so I will be striking down and out when I hit the ball. Swing bottom should be a couple of inches in front of the ball.

Holding on has given me lots of problems, you have to let it go and with a good pivot you almost can't flip.

Ok.. thank you for the replies. I read the other thread and totally get what you posted Birdie_Man. It seems that I'm on to something then, and that having the right aiming point can actually simplify things. Just get your hands to point 'B' and let it all go.

** and to add to that... Is it possible that someone could take the 'Flipper' Vid too far? I mean, I love my FLW that I can "show off to all my friends", but I'm starting to think that I should release it at some point. ;)
