Aiming right

Hello all,

A few years ago this was discussed but I don't think Brian ever gave his reason why? Why do most golfers aim right and how do you fix it? You would think due to the slice they would aim left but most people that I play with have very closed shoulders and stance and can never seem to get everything aimed parallel. I would love a way to set up to the ball that helps me get parallel to my club face.

Thanks for the help.

so they can flip at it with a shut face or come over it.

I with you on that. Most average golfers are slicers so they hope for that straight pull or flip to square it up with their path instead of playing playing the slice. Even knowing if they miss time it they're going to lose the ball fore right off the property, or at least on the next hole over. This is where I think an understanding of the D-plane could be a real game changer for some people. If you can figure out how to manipulate your D-plane, you can just "dance with the girl you brought" with your swing so to speak, and play better golf without completely overhauling your swing or trying to reach positions you might not be capable of.

Convergence!!!! Look at railroad tracks and your brain will perceive the tracks converging/getting closer in the distance. Maybe Project 1.68 will discuss optical illusions in golf and the limitations of our brain/senses. If your left shoulder is pointed at the target many people will feel they're aimed at the target. I seem to recall some golf instruction books discussing this topic.

Think about where the path must be in relation to the face to hit a "proper" draw--right of the face. So if you aim right it's an aid, but not a guarantee, in helping get your path right of your face.
