He knows some pretty cool card tricks.

Actually, he has a series of DVDs out that are pretty good. Nothing earth-shattering, but educational nonetheless.

The only drawback to the DVD series is that it seems to take him forever to get to the point. I fell asleep during each one of them :)!

He is a fraud. He says that the clubhead is like a little baseball bat on the end of the shaft, and therefore the sweetspot rotates around the hosel. This is bassackwards to the truth provided by Homer.

I've watched the DVDs. If I remember correctly, he really focuses on clubhead rotation, compressing the ball and a forward leaning shaft at impact. Seems to be consistent with TGM.

I'll watch them again this week, if I can stay awake, and report back if there is anything else.

That sounds like horizontal hinging and allowing CF to square the clubface...

The clubface motion in the impact area is not a rotation of the clubface around the shaft, the hosel rotates around the sweetspot.

When I was right out of college, I was invited to the San Diego Golf Academy to guest speak about TGM. AJ was there and was keen to hear what I had to say. At the time he was all about "Turbo Toe" and didn't know any TGM stuff. My talk was about Impact Fix and the Release Interval options.
Next I know, AJ's got the SECRET (stloc) out. Good for him.
If you read this forum, you probably already know the SECRET. Now go apply..apply..apply.

The only thing I got out of the DVD, was a really cool card trick. The rest is basically his commercial "with" the filler. I'm glad I didn't pay for it. Not trying to be mean but, if I pay someone for advice, it better be more then a hallmark card on golf.

You're not gonna stloc with "Turbo Toe" :(

I have his DVDs. Boy, nail on the head about boring. My wife purchased them for me year or more back. Basically, he teaches that horizonal hinging is the key to great, consistent, golf. Go out swing anyway you want and remember to rotate the clubface through impact for that perfect shot. He even has clubs for sale now with shafts that are black on one side and white on the other so you can see the transition during impact.

He does mention forward leaning clubshaft and correct grip. I think I gave up when he said pretend the club is a giant hammer and drive a nail into the back of the ball while rotating the clubface.

That's it. That is why there is so much filler on his DVDs. Not too much to tell for 6 DVDs. I learned more from Brian in his backyard, in shorts, with 4 golfballs in 10 minutes than I learned from ALL of AJs DVDs.

Brian.......You need a Golf Channel commercial and some slick promotional guys.

I got the Horiz hinging, but where is it found about the sweetspot rotates around the hosel, 2E?

psst...and what is stloc?

It's not 2E - If someone doesn't beat me to it, I'll try to track it down. stloc = sustain the line of compression.

You meant to say "hosel rotates around sweetspot".

2-F Middle of 2nd paragraph.

It has been awhile since I saw AJ's videos, but I believe he is teaching a Swivel rather than Horizontal Hinging during Impact.

The card trick was the best part of the video.

Drewitgolf,

You may be right. Been awhile for me too. All I know is that he gets a lot of mileage out of a very little information.
