What do you instructors think about his swing ? It appears he loads up & kinda "stays there" & unloads . He doesn't pass his front shoulder line until the ball is long gone.

What do you mean by "he?" His head? His "weight?"

It's a driver, so longer hitters are usually going to "stay behind it."

It looks like in the downswing he isn't going to have much axis tilt, but he finally gets some axis tilt late in the swing combined with his head moving back from the target.

I'm amazed how he swings on (around) the chi line. I wonder sometimes if he stays on it too long.........?

Ranked 49th in the world.....must be doing something right.

Sorry but I don't believe your 'chi line' for a minute. Sadlowski is in front of the 'chi line' just the picture angle is poor, comparing a long-drive player to a regular golfer is not right, comparing a driver to an iron isn't right and comparing golf to tennis or baseball (where you generally have to hit UP on the ball) is wrong too...

Just my opinion of course. I'm sure someone else will come along and say otherwise :)

So you've basically bought in to the whole enchilada, huh?

Listen, any line you draw on golfers will show something.

But, if you guys think some folks are way behind the ball some of the time, I don't know what I can do for you.

Quiros plays the very far back for a driver so doesn't need to move forward. Most good players have it off the left heel.

Sadlowski is different. He plays the ball probably a good 6 inches further forward and being a long driver with his clubhead speed will hit the ball longest with an ascending blow.He does stay behind the so called "chi line" to get this upward path.It is not parallax.

Not sure what your point is though. Are you implying it's a good thing to do?Hogan,Snead,Moe,Trevino and Nelson certainly didn't do it.They played ok.

I thought it was interesting to see his left foot on the toe and his heel spinning out... and also that Callaway make an advert with a piece of rubbish blowing around on the right side of the screen during his downswing... perhaps we all need that?! :) :)

The left heel spinning back around is a sign that a player is rotating without much forward lateral motion. You will see the same thing with Sadlowski.

I'm not sure where we are going with all of this.

I started this thread asking for instructors opinions on AQ' swing . His "lack of" lateral upper body towards the target as he unloads. He has the same motion with irons also. Not just the Driver. (Do your re-search)

I didn't say I bought into anything. I simply ref. an article in response to someone asking me what the chi line is.

It seems I got BM's opinion which is what I was seeking........ so therefore.....the rest of ya can.......................

You too my ill mannered but very sensitive fellow forum user.

Don't post on forums if you can't handle other opinions. It's a contradiction.

Chino,

The Chi Line article is using different camera angles to try and get a few golfers with very different swings to appear to have something in common. That's my opinion.
