I lurk around here a lot but don't post much. I've been playing golf for about 10 years now. I've been known to be an instruction junky. I've seen and read just about everything from Swing the Clubhead and Gravity Golf to enjoy the hit ala Crocker. I've kind of landed in the middle of TGM and stayed there. It just seems to make perfect since to me. I'm a high school golf coach and I feel like it is my job to learn as many ways to relate the golf swing to others as possible.
My question is what is the best way to determine if a player is predominately a swinger or a hitter? At one time I believed that I was a hitter because when I'm playing really well I feel a lot of loading in my right side on the down swing (I'm right handed). But after some graduate study into TGM I'm starting to think that I'm really a swinger.
I really think it's important for me to be able to find out if someone is a swinger or a hitter to really be effective with my instruction.
Any thoughts?
