Im not a big follower of TGM but if you keep the clubface closed during the takeway and then use the right arm to hit down and through the ball (aiming point through the inside quadrant of the ball ) is that a hitting stroke?

You are using some "hit" though.
Some people use more right arm than others, knowingly or not.......but I think the general consensus these days is that everyone does it.
