Possible in reality, in your opinion, to be a PURE Swinger....or PURE Hitter?

Examples?

-Paul
Sure, Yes it is possible

eg. pure swinger :Sergio
pure hitter :Azinger(I think so, maybee)
pure hinger :Stadler (swingers backswing, hitters downswing)
pure switter :Tiger (adds overacceleration of acc#1 on downswing)
Many more examples I am sure would also be appropriate.

Sometimes though only the player themselves really knows wether they are a swinger or a hitter. Most tour pros IMO are switters as thats what they are taught by Lead etc.(steering).

Pure, baby, P-U-R-E!

Of course it can be done.

How many guys are "pure?"

Here are a few:

Fred Couples and Vijay Singh -Swingers

Old/Current Arnie -Hitter

The better question is WHY does it matter?

The teacher can know that some right arm thrust tends to angled hinge (which means LESS roll or NO roll), but other than that, it's all Kool-Aid.

And by that, I mean this: I did EXTENSIVE TESTING, and I found it to be something better left unsaid. There are a small percentage of golfers who really CAN'T swing, so knowing hitting helps those guys some, but sorry, other than that it's Kool-Aid.

Turn BROKEN swingers into hitters because it is easier on the teacher.

There was once a teacher (no names) who is a broken swinger, who attended a seminar where he was anointed a hitter. He procalimed later that day or the next he'd do it 'for all times.'

I saw him a couple of weeks later, "How's that Hitting going?" I said,

"I can't do that," was the reply.

Bobby Jones, a swinger at least MOST of the time, used a BUNCH of right arm thrust on certain shots.

Lee Trevino, who looked like a hitter to some, PULLED WITH THE LEFT as hard as he could.

I think—at the end of the day—my original arguement on this subject back on the old TGM forum, still holds water:

"Just FIX 'em."

lol.....cause the Aussies are at it again on iseekgolf.com

;)

Thanks Brian.

Hey 4 barrels,

Not a Leadbetter supporter, just new to TGM and I'm curious how Lead teaches steering.

Thanks a lot!

What exactly does your extensive testing entail?

Please show me your evidence.

Thanks.

I hit 1000's of balls, and taught/tested it to dozens of real golfers, and watch BOTH on high-speed video, and drew some lines, and talked about it to real smart AI's, and read a bunch in the book, and listened to some Homer audio, and hit some more balls, and taught it differently to real golfers and videoed some more and drew some more lines with tracing paper on a drafting table with a really good pencil and a really good overhead clip on light in the wee hours of the morning, and I LISTENED to other golfers who had learn this stuff from other TGM teachers and videod them and tok the video home and studied it and came back and hit more balls.

And I fixed all the ones who were taught it to them by someone else, and I did it MY WAY.

Please show me your evidence.

Heck no.

$150 hour, $300 a half day, $1200 for a full day plus expenses

or you can buy the video.

Great question Matt, bbbbaasically anyone who teaches people to swing the arms wide on the downswing to stop 'getting stuck' :D . and swings the arms via the arms to control the club is steering (ref chapter 3 TGM -snares).

Haney and Harmon are also guilty of this, but Ballard is not (he has other issues he needs to improve in his teaching eg. axis tilt).

That sounds pretty extensive to me . Good to know you "dig it out of the dirt". Definitely give you 10/10 for effort :) .

Here's that thread on Iseek, BTW:

They argue that there are no pure Swingers and no pure Hitters.

Manzella's forum is the only real golf forum the rest are pretenders.

The facts are that Manzella's forum is only about 10% biased and corruppt and the rest are totally full of hidden agendas and one cant tell the truth in posts because it hurts their fragile egos too much, thats why I will only post here, posting anywhere else is a waste of time (a bit like not working on educated hands first) .

Hi Folks, Could someone please explain "pure hinger" and the implications of this stroke? It kind of sounds a lot like what I do.
Thanks in advance.

Ya....there's some guys who like TGM over there....

And some other guys who are physicists and such and are trying to bring it down (I think anyway....).....but I have to argue with them when I see some of the stuff...

Really tho....a lot of it has a point too.

But I think some guys get carried away in thinking they're gonna make the "TGM world" come to an end or something.....so I fight them when I think it's neccessary.

A 'hinger' is a golfer that has the intention to be a hitter but adds swinging by accident to their proceedure.

Eg. Ted Fort GSEB
