106 views and no comments...great swing....nothing to say?

Would love to see this guy over in UK for The Open...it must be on his schedule now he has qualified ....

He seems to get his hands quite deep on the backswing....relative to many modern swings....but similar to Hogan.

Great example of horizontal style hinge IMO.

well theres another teacher telling everybody your supposed to have square shoulders at impact

he never said that. he just said that when the shoulders were back to square, the hips were already open. the point was the differential between shoulders and hips due to the hips starting the downswing.

"at impact the shoulders are parallel to the target line"

re-watch the video

The key is that the right shoulder has gone down to and through impact...you can have open shoulder at impact, you can have hips more open than shoulders....but it don't work unless that right shoulder has gone down plane....that is the key....open shoulders at impact and off plane right shoulder = over the top...

he says by impact there is considerable separation between the hips and shoulders. he then draws a line on the shoulders WAY BEFORE IMPACT and talks about square shoulders. does Kostis teach square shoulders at impact? I dont know and i dont care. I dont get why people on this forum take such pride in pointing out and degrading other instructors just because they teach different things than Manzella does.

There are many different ways to swing. Some are better off with open shoulders at impact, some are better off with the shoulders more square at impact. If I recall correctly, the drawings from 5 lessons clearly show that Hogan thought the shoulders were square at impact(I am referring to the schematic of the hips vs shoulders with ovals).

The constant breaking down of other instructors just shows how insecure some people here are about the instruction they are following. If you really buy into what your instructor is selling, then it shouldn't bother you so much what other pros are saying.

Has nothing to do with what brian, myself or anyone else thinks or teaches. The fact is that, all tour pro's shoulders are OPEN at impact. Hell, you could even go to Golftec and they'd tell you that. They are most open with a driver and least open with a wedge.

Most people here get aggravated when announcers simply spew incorrect information.

Camera angles can complicate things.......

But he seems to be taking it more inside........if I remember what he was doing before......

And...........he looks really flat at the top here............

The Hardy people are gonna love this...

Yep, perfect one-planer. ;)

Just kidding.

He shifts planes on the downswing from turned shoulder to the elbow plane.

I was talking about about the "Hardy model" shoulders matching arms at the top which, of course, doesn't really mean anything. I wasn't saying he was a single shifter or even a no-shifter.

It was just a tongue-in-cheek comment regarding the recent Hardy talk on here.

I have no clue about Hardy only know how to draw the lines per TGM book and count the shifts. Kim has a nice action - he is going to be around for a while I suspect.
