I would like to know from some of you teachers, how do you go about changing the attack angle on your students. Getting someone to hit down on the Iron and to hit up on the driver. I have had some good succsess getting people to hit up on the driver by moving the ball position, alignment and shoulder tilt away from the ball. I have really worked on peoples pivot getting more weight on the left side to move their low point more to the left for the Iron. I know this is pretty general but I would apperciate your thoughts!

Thanks

Tell them to hit the ball out of a divot if you want more downward angle of a attack. If you are too shallow, it's hard to get the ball airborne. That's probably an extreme case though.

I want to add another thought, or comment, be careful getting them to go at it with too much 'down.' I say this because I think it's harder to work the ball when you take massive divots. I guess the 'medicine' is really prescribed on a case by case basis.

Has anyone else found that hitting up with the driver without adding loft is very difficult? My club wants to pass my hands. I feel like I'm holding off the speed and forces. I reduce spin, but I lose speed and don't hit it as far as I do when I hit up and not worry about adding loft (small flip). I'm not sure that small flips are bad per se with lower lofted clubs. Flips are disasterous with higher lofted clubs.
