Can someone describe how to execute an Automatic Snap Release and what are the general differences between the 5 releases described in TGM.

There are three basic releases and they have to do with where the accumulator(s) begin to release along the delivery path of the hands: sweep (early as possible -- top of the delivery path); snap (as late as possible -- bottom of the delivery path) and random (somewhere in between).

To execute an automatic snap release, just keep driving the clubhead lag pressure straight at a pre-selected spot ("aiming point") along the delivery line, as though you were never going to release at all. When you get to the bottom of the delivery path, the release automatically happens. This one takes maximum courage.

Thanks, rwh. Sorry for my basic questions, but the clubhead lag pressure is Pressure Point #3 (right index finger) and aiming point is outside left foot as shown in the confessions of a flipper video? I can see why it would take maximum courage!

No...Brian you make it look easy. It's just us mere mortals that require courage. So am I interpreting what rwh is saying correctly (PP3 aimed at outside of left foot (from my perspective))? BTW...that was an eye opener for me in the video -- that the hands at impact look to you as if they are outside of your left foot.
