AXIT TILT IS THE SHI......

Just learned (the other night while hitting a few divots) the importance of AXIS TILT through Impact to:

-having a flat or ARCHED (ARCHED!) Left Wrist at Impact
-hitting DOWN
......

and hence,

-MASHING! the ball

I couldn't believe it....the more I tried to look like Brian's logo at Impact the better I swung.....10000 fold. And yes.....believe it or not.....the more that left shoulder goes UP.....the more you can hit DOWN. !!!! Didn't realize this....but I guess if the left shoulder goes up the right shoulder has to go down.

I didn't know the extent of how important this could be before...didn't pay as much attention to it as I should have.

Thanks for always emphasizing this Brian!

What are some swing thoughts on obtaining axis tilt? e.g., I thought about a cartoon character whose lower part runs off while the upper body stays in place. Although that's pretty stupid, is that along the right line of thinking?

I just try to do it....I dunno man. I know what Axis Tilt consists of, I know what it feels like, and I make sure I do it.

If I had to say anything tho Archie, I'd say I have just been trying as hard as I can to get my left shoulder "high" at Impcact......let educated hands sustain lag/arch left wrist at same time.

I think I was letting my head move forward a bit (or at least, had very little axis tilt at Impact) especially when I was trying to hit down........and especially did it with short irons- and from what I've found, if you do that and your face is already more open (from startup swivel) it's gonna stay too open.

And if it's more closed then you're gonna hit pulls and hooks (harder to hit inside of ball with no axis tilt).

Believe it or not, more Axis Tilt at Imapct seems to make it EASIER to hit down, and EASIER to close the clubface (if it already has been swiveled open on the backswing)....because- left should. goes down but r. shoulder goes UP.

That's what I've taken from it anyway.....if anything I say sounds off-base someone call me on it.

Try to fade a driver with a full roll and your body will adjust and know what to do. Your left shoulder will go higher. It has to if you execute the roll correctly and to get the ball to fade.

By 'full roll' do you mean like my signature.
