Baby Scoops

Hi Brian, thanks again for the "Former Flipper" Video, some gems in there.

I've pretty much worked the flipping out of my system and are hitting some pretty solid irons.

On video i notice sometimes i lose a bit of right wrist bend only in the last few inches before striking the ball... i'm still taking a divot and hitting it pretty solid.

The slight scoop however means i lose some shaft lean at impact with the shaft probably just a bit forward of vertical for a wedge rather than having it's built in lean.

Any ideas on what causes this and how to resolve? again it's just the slightest amount so makes it pretty hard to monitor... nothing as severe as you've demonstrated in Flipper.

Thanks!

Make sure whatever you do, you keep your head BEHIND the ball, and DON'T move your arms with your arms.

Glad you liked it,

Brian

Thanks, yep head definately behind the ball with right should now going down plane ok.

Jim, with your comment "you're trying to "hit at" the ball" any ideas on a "feel" to go with that? all i've been concentrating on is making a divot in front of the ball, not the ball itself but perhaps i need a different feel or thought to get over the subconcious.

Cheers guys

A Pic tells a thousand stories....

Here's a pic of what i was talking about. Pic on the left is shaft lean at address (7 iron), pic on the right is at impact. Notice that the lean is not as great.

Impact pic looks good to me. You wouldn't want as much lean as the pic on the left unless you wanted to hit an extremely low 7 iron, British Open low!

Bergsey,

If you reverse the positions - left picture = impact and right picture = address, then you will have it nailed down.

With the power package yes. (but not if he's like Nicklaus!!...remember!! ;))

But not the pivot.

Although I know you know that.

Try to create impact fix via the work of your pivot, not positions with hands/arms. You also need more concervation of right arm bend.
Other than that quite good.
