backswing pace

Just discovered something that effects my balance and tempo on the backswing.

Ive always had a problem with my head raising and moving out towards the ball on the backswing. Usually record myself in the kitchen at night before bed and once the wife is asleep

Anyways when im hitting my irons solid ive always had good tempo that day and for a feel of the club loading and my body to settle at the top.. I just realized that feel of waiting for everything to settle at the top is because im to quick on my backswing away from the ball.. Just tried a feel of super smooth and even paced the first half of the backswing and my head didn't raise up at all.

Also perfectly balanced in the swing. I'm sure it will take getting used to a new tempo but should be able to handle that.

Will post some before and after vid once i pay the range a visit

Dear pokerlife,

If your balance inquires include BBKIB, (and I hope they do, since as you stated, balance and tempo are ), you should have a very synergistic effect by 'releasing' the BB, to start the back swing.

What I mean by 'releasing' the BB, comes from an 'advanced' characteristic of this final set-up condition, where there is a CLOCKWISE torque felt between the rear foot and the ground AT THE END OF THE BB SET-UP. So when you 'feel' this, and are ready from all other set-up conditions of yours, FROM THIS STATIC CONDITION, JUST RELEASE your hips and knees to initiate the back swing.

What will happen from the science-based side is that the angular momentum you develop during the back swing, combined with the angular velocities involved with the major body elements (lower body, upper body, and even the shoulder complexes), will RESULT in a better kinematic sequence during the down swing. YOU SHOULD FELL THIS as a smother, better balanced swing with now tempo, dynamic balance, and kinematic sequencing/timing, ALL personalized AND OPTIMIZED to your body characteristics. I call this whole process Body Optimized and Dynamically Integrated Golf, or BODIGolf for short.

Try it, IMO, you'll like it, and please let us know how it works for you.

Sincerely,
art
