Backswing Position

Brian:

Been working on my hitting action and having problems keeping my left wrist flat on the backswing. I noticed on the Never Slice Again video that you talked about a hinging of the wrists on the backswing with the right elbow folding in. Should this be a conscious move on the backswing, or should the wrists be allowed to hinge naturally?

You have to KEEP the right wrist from cocking.

To do this, the club and left hand will feel like it is TWISTing away from you.

BACKward to what you are doing.

But, I wouldn't try to do anything with the right elbow and NO it won't feel natural.

I really believe that the FINISH SWIVEL is best learned on a 'need to do it' basis.

That is: Drill it with a weaker grip than normal. Then go back.
