Well, this angle just shows how open good LONG hitting players are at impact.

Players who swing with their arms with quiet reactive hips will never achieve this position at impact.

This IS a very useful view. Mostly to convince students of things like open hips at impact, and the behaviour of the clubface after impact (sometimes hidden by the body on traditional DTL views...).

One of my Christmas presents is an Casio EX FH-20. I am having this image. Camera in front of me and downhill. My practice area is perfect for this setup. The image is press the shutter button, 10 second delay, run up to the tee. Hit a topped shot that goes right through the lense. Kapow!!

By the way, I got the camera on Amazon for $275.00. It's been bouncing around pricewise, now $299.00.

Nah, I'll put it on a tripod, and fire away. The problem with using cameras is having the patience to get it set up correctly.

I think he's referring to his left wrist being bent.

The more I look at this move the better it gets. I would like to watch him live hitting some fades to see wher he aims and what he does with the face.

I agree with you, Kevin. This guy is the real deal.

I'm interested to hear your thoughts on his weight transfer. Many times you hear instructors talk about initiating the downswing with a weight shift to the left heel. This is followed by a straightening of the left leg. McIlroy seems as if his weight transfer is being "powered off" his right foot resulting in a shift to the left that occurs naturally, without any obvious effort to transfer his weight. It appears that his left leg doesn't straighten until after the ball is gone. Is this something most people should be working on?

If McIlroy were standing on one of those "force pad" measurement devices, what do you think it would it read at transition, halfway down and at impact?

It maybe an illusion but the plane looks different from this angle
