Bent Left arm at impact?

My swing is really improving lately thanks to a few lessons with Brian, reading this forum almost daily and doing some light reading of the Yellow Book.

I've managed to work most of the kinks out of my swing with the exception of a slight bent left arm at impact. I assume changing my swing arc could be a contributor...anything else?

On another note, I use "twistaway" on my backswing, but have to be careful as my swing was getting very flat over the past month. Anyone else experience that swing problem while learning the twistaway?

Could be you haven't set your radius properly (distance from the ball @ set up) or you are lacking extensor action. Could be plenty of others too but those are the most common.

Tom, thanks. Could an over-the-top swing cause a bent left arm at impact as well?

Yes. Like I said, there could be any number of reasons. I would really have to see it to be sure. When Brian's new site is up, we will be able to do stuff like that.:)

Tom: Reteif Goosen also has a bent left arm at impact. He has a straight left arm at the top . Have you got an idea why he ends up with his left arm bent at impact?

Brian and I agree it is the same thing but we differ on how it happens. Brian says he doesn't get his left shoulder high enough at impact. I say he doesn't get his left shoulder high enough at impact but that is his impact. So, my reason is he doesn't adjust his radius for that impact left shoulder. Brian also has some other thoughts but you will have to get that from him.

Work on full roll of the left arm, that will greatly assist in your left arm/wedge through the shot (assuming you are swinging). If hitting, make sure you are stopping at 'top' (shoulder high) and that you are not going to 'end' (hands above head).
