Hello Marcus. Welcome to the home of REAL answers.

The Flying Wedges are an idea. Just like the Hinges. They really don't exist so-to-speak.

A concept. Like being nice to your fellow man.

Here is the straight truth:

The REASON that people "flip" is that they either hit the ball better flipping it, or they are trying to make the club make the ball go from point a to point b on a certain "line."

What do I mean by hitting it bettter by flipping?

Let's say you have a weak grip and you double-cock your left wrist on the backswing. If you made a downswing without a flip—and didn't know how to "square it up" the right way—you'd hit it far to the right.

But if you "Flipped it" sqaure-ish, the ball would fly straighter.

Before I give you a fix, what was your ball flight with a flip with a 6-iron and with a Driver?

I have a FLAT LEFT WRIST at the top. I BLOCK my 6-iron and HOOK my driver. When I hit it well in the past, my misses were pushes with an open clubface.

P.S. - I purchased "Confessions of a Former Flipper," your DVD on Flipping.

I'm in Jackson, Mississippi, Where are you loctaed? In New Orleans? Maybe I will come over an take a lesson.

Me.

I teach in Baton Rouge, as well as New Orleans (and Louisville, Kentucky as well).

Call me anytime for a session, my number is 502.417.GOLF

Your issue is also that you are swinging too far to the right. What have you worked on in that regard?

GREAT, BATON ROUGE IS CLOSER. I HAVE USED A SWING TRAINER WITH ARM EXTENDERS. I WOULD EXTEND THE ARM AND TRY TO SWING UNDER THE ARM. I HAVE ALSO TRIED TOWEL UNDER MY ARMS. BOTH HAVE WORKED IN THE PAST BUT I WOULD LOSE MY HIP SLIDE AXIS TILT.

The old Towel under the arm trick.

I really dislike that drill.

Your arms should swing fairly free.

Any way to post a swing of yours?

I lurk more than post, but about 3 months ago after I first stumbled upon this site, I bought Flipper, because that is exactly what I was. 7 hcp. and could shoot 73 or 85 and had no idea which one it would be any given round. Well, Marcus, I am still working on it, but I am hitting freaking laser beams now and more importantly, slowly building confidence in my action. My partners ask me who I've been seeing to "fix" my game, and of course I say Brian Manzella, I just don't say I've only seen him on my monitor. I have got to make the trip down I-10 and see you Mr. Manzella, because you changed my game and I've never even met you!! Sorry to get off topic a little, but watch Flipper, hundreds of times like I have, and go forth and Flip no more!!
