I joined this site awhile ago, after seeing Brian's posts on FGI. I haven't visited this site in awhile, but recently within the last week I revisited it and I am amazed and intrigued with all the great info in this forum.
I have decided to take a serious approach to improving my golf game and I think TGM is a great way to do it, based on what I have read on this forum and watching the Brian Manzella Show (all 6 episodes).
I will give you some basic info on myself:
31 years old
5'11" 230lbs
strong, stocky build (think Hal Sutton), but not very flexible
playing golf for 21 years
currently shoot in the mid to high 80s, but I have shot low in the low 70s
strength of game is short game and putting
weakness is tee shots and inconsistent irons
I have taken some lessons in the past and have been told I have over the top move and I have major alignment issues with shoulders way open at address. I am working on my shoulder alignment at address, but it is a slow process. My misses tend to be pulls, and pull hooks. Every so often with my Driver and longer clubs I still hit the odd slice or pull slice, but this is pretty rare
I have looked for a TGM instructor near me, but I live in Canada and according to TGM website there are only 3 certified instructors in the country and none near me. Therefore, this website is currently my only resource. Given this info, where would you start if you were me? What drills, video lessons, books etc would be of benefit for me.
Thanks
Jay
