Brian, Chuck, Yoda

So far in my quest for a better swing with TGM I've been on 3 different sites. Are there any major differences in the teachings? So far I have Chuck's Ebook and Brian's "Flipper" video. I'm looking to add to my small collection but I'm not sure who to get it from. Any suggestions? THanks

Ben Doyle's How to Build a G.O.l.F. game. Also Brians Beta test videos. Other ones are Mike Jacobs dvd also Rick Nielson dvd. The last 2 are swinging patterns. To date Ben's is the most complete video I have seen for TGM. This could change with Brian's finish product when it comes out or if Lynn put's one out.

Brian, Ben, and Yoda's are the synaptic gospels just as Mathew, Mark, Luke and John all tell the same story but each with somewhat different methods.

I thought about Ben's video but it's 100 bucks on VHS. Chuck's is like 60 and on DVD. Anyone seen Chuck's? Anyway of getting Ben's cheaper? Thanks

I figured there were different methods. That's what I'm trying to figure out. Is one of them better for beginners or swingers vs hitters, etc.. Thanks again.

Chuck's DVD is too basic, IMHO. Read Brian's articles on this site. Go to Lynn Blake's website. There is a section there that has all of his old posts from various forums. Those posts explain alot of the yellow book. I personally didn't like Ben's video. If Brian ever gets his finished, I believe his will be better than Ben's. Just the humble opinion of a TGM newbie.

I have Chuck's Ebook and I thought it was too basic as well. I was hoping for drills and definitions on TGM terms, etc.. Nothing on TGM. I was wondering if the DVD covered this or if it's basically the Ebook on a DVD. I like Brian's "flipper" video but I can only view it at my wifes work. My PC at work doesn't have the most current media player. What I need to do is stop being so cheap and buy a computer. Anyway, keep'em coming. Thanks

Regarding Chuck Evans, I would agree with the previous posters. The e-book and DVD are a little too basic, nothing earth shattering or not already discussed on this website. On another note, his video information and drills are excellent.

Sorry I had to delete a post on this thread.

I'll make it a simple as possible on this one, with an expansion on a post of mine about the upcoming school with me, Lynn and Ben.

Ben Doyle - The master of the ESSENCE of the golf swing. "Mind in your hands, eyes on the inside aft-quadrant, and the pivot does all the work." With the maximum particapation four-barrel swing as a goal, Ben WILL settle for less...but will NEVER settle for leakage.

He was a top club pro in Washington State for years and after meeting Homer Kelley and becoming the First Authorized Instructor of The Golfing Machine, Ben moved to California to teach full-time. He acheived world-wide fame as the teacher of Bobby Clampett, and later produced his video "How to Build a G.O.L.F. Game." Ben has delevloped dozens of world-class TEACHERS as well as players.

Lynn Blake - The Martin Luther of THE Little Yellow Book. Homer's protege'. Applying the TEXT and the MESSAGE of Homer's brilliant words with "Billy Graham-like" evangelical ZEAL. The Master of the presentation of the geometry of the swing. He will make you a hitter or a swinger or both...and you WILL mash the ball.

After operating a successful golf school in the early 80's, Lynn was frustrated by The Golfing Machine, Inc.'s policies after Homer's passing. He continued with his very successful financial business for over 20 years, and through the internet and the TGM forum, The Manzella Forum and The Chuck Evans forum, rekindled his passion for teaching which he does through schools and full and half-day private sessions.

Brian Manzella - The KING of the metaphor. Making difficult concepts come to life with easy to understand ideas. The very best teacher at reaching the WIDEST array of golfing talent from hacker to PGA Tour star to club pro. He will transform the most hopeless golfer into one full of ball-striking ability...and USEABLE knowledge.

A full-time teacher for the last 21 years, Brian has developed dozens of collegiate golfers, taught several players who became PGA Tour pros as well as woked with several after they were on the the Tour. Brian has also developed several top-flight teachers and has produces dozens of well reviewed, easy to understand and apply Articles and Videos.

Not teaching at the "Three G.O.L.F. guys and You" school, but mentioned on this thread,

Chuck Evans - Frustrated by his inability to swing in the manner that Ben Doyle was teaching him, Chuck sought out other "Golfing Machine" methodology and eventually got access to Homer's 7th edition notes through Sally Kelley. Chuck teaches patterns that are similar to Lynn's favorites, but different in some respects like plane shifts. He knows the book very well. Has an e-book and a video.

No, I work in the securities industry and they keep a tight lock on anything coming and going from my computer. I can download some information, but I cannot install anything.

Hi Brian, I'm thinking about getting into the "beta program". Right now, just getting started in this, I'm not sure if I'm a "hitter" or a "swinger". Are the DVD's made for both, or do they tend to favor one over the other. Thanks

I bet the vault that contains all nuked posts would make for an interesting read. You have to get a key from the counter to get in that door.

Its basic because you will just get bamboozled if he threw in all the TGM terms. Believe me on that, I spent time with Chuck and he knows his stuff. The ideal way would be to watch the DVD or read the e-book and then read the book.

You will find that this is an easier approach. The book will just come alive to you when you associate what Chuck demonstrated with what Mr Kelly says in the book.

Chuck is not so much into the hardcore TGMer which is less than 1% of the total golfing population. He is more into the 99% of amateur golfers, which represents a more lucrative market.

Cheers,

Justin

Mr Manzella,

May I be allowed to highlight some inaccuracies in your post. Chuck was never a frustrated "Max Participation 4-Barrel Swinger". Ben NEVER taught Chuck period.

Chuck observed Ben giving lessons, true. But observation is not the same as "being taught". Maybe that is your idea of a metaphor, but technically it is not.
