Nice looking no gimmick putter you got there Brian.
I think Tiger has a bit of pop in his stroke too.
Would be interesting to see what effect the smooth stroke vs pop stroke has on how the ball rolls.
I know a certain method based putting guru who would certainly disagree with this style of putting. But this clearly works when you have such high caliber players playing at such a high level so consistently for such a long period. Instead of defending their method they should figure out why other methods work and how it can benefit certain players.

Brian, it looks like you're hitting down on those balls... was that your intention?

Modern teaching seems to preach just the opposite...

I like the feel/results of the retro style myself.

Where on the arc do you suppose Snedeker impacts the ball?

Whaddaya Think Brian - would this "work" for someone like me with the occasional (sometimes more frequent than occasional) "twitches"?

Might speed up the backswing which makes it harder for a forward twitch imo

I've always putted my best this way on long putts, but would try to be too manipulative on short puts and go for the more traditional paintbrush stroke, but I'm too streaky that way. So I commited to the pop stroke on short puts, and I agree, I think it's harder to twitch. The main thing I've had to be careful with is speed on short putts. It easy to let them get away from you and have a longer one then you started with. To help with this I've gone to a heavier putter head. I think it's like 375 grams or something, and 31". It was originally a belly putter and I bought it cut down, and cut it down more. The hammering in the tack analogy is exactly what I think of when practicing, or even on course. I think the tack thing helps with aiming too because it feels to me more apparent where you're directing the energy.

Does it look like he tries to hook the putt?

He seems to setup to the ball a bit towards the heel, but then appears to makes contact a bit towards the toe.

Even though that putt was short it did have a lot of break to it.........just sayin!

Does anyone other than me putt with the same grip they use for their full swing? I sucked at putting for a long time. I read something somewhere and switched to the same grip as my full swing. I wouldn't say I pop it like Brandt does but it's not a Phil M. Stroke either. Somewhere in between. My putting got much better after making the switch.

For me I tried left hand low, the claw, saw, pencil, reverse interlock, regular interlock, forward press no forward press, shaft lean no shaft lean etc.
I finally decided to to use my same ten finger grip I use on my golfswing.
I also started to putt under the string to make sure I was putting straight and also used the writting on ball to line up my putts, after Putting under the string for quite some time and still do.
That exercise REALLY opened my eyes to how bad I was putting/face control, army putting, left right, left, right. Not untill I got to square the face at contact did my putting really come around. Now I just line up the writting on the ball on the line I intend for the ball to start on and watch the writting tumple end over end to from a single line  and watch more putts roll in.

I used the reverse overlap for a long time, worked hard to have the most square setup with the exact same stance width and ball position every time... putted okay like this, but never felt comfortable on shorter putts (made a lot of them, but it was just always was a stressful situation). With the reverse overlap I felt I couldn't get the forearms all the way square, the right arm was always too high & it made me feel too open.

Switched to a similar grip I'd use with a short iron or wedge & can now easily get the forearms more square, got a little more athletic looking, got some tips from Brian ---> no more discomfort on short putts... none.

The advice: get a putting lesson from Brian or one of the Manzella academy instructors. They know more about putting than everyone else too.
