Brian Manzella wins the 2013 PGA Gulf States Section Teacher of the Year Award
51 year-old New Orleans native and resident Brian Manzella is the 2013 recipient of the PGA Gulf States Teacher of the Year Award. A 24-year member of the PGA of America, Brian was the PGA Kentucky Section Teacher of the Year in 2003, joining a select group of teachers to win the award in multiple sections.
Brian is a 2-time Golf Magazine Top 100 Teacher in America. He was voted onto Golf Digest's 50 Best Teachers list for 2013-2014. Manzella is a 24-year member of the PGA of America, and is in his 30th season as a golf instructor.
His long-time student David Toms, was inducted into the PGA Gulf States Section Hall-of-Fame last fall.
Manzella's mentors include PGA Gulf States Section Hall-of-Fame member Henry Thomas, and Legendary PGA Northern California teacher, Ben Doyle.
The award will be presented at the PGA Gulf States Section Special Awards Presentation scheduled for Monday, December 9th, 9:00am, at Money Hill Golf & Country Club. This will precede the E-Z-GO/Oliver Counce Six Pro Championship. President David Lee will present the award.
