Actually a question, but it got your attention :D

What do you think is the single most important aspect of Tiger's swing, and how does it differentiate him from the rest of the field?

I personally can't pin it down to one single thing (not sure if anyone else has ideas)....

It just is a good swing. Nothing really overly weird....perfect Double Shift (nowadays), clubface control (Standard Wrist Action, Hor. Hinging).

His rotation is very strong....that's the one thing that stands out at me.

Really though....while he is a good ballstriker....his putting/short game is better..... his confidence/"mental game" is maybe better still.....and on top of all that his desire to improve and perform is huge. On top of natural ability....

Lavell Edwards, former coach of the BYU Cougar football team, said that winners are differentiated by three things: 1) the way they think, 2) the way they prepare, and 3) the way they handle adversity. I think this sums up very nicely why Tiger is unique. He's great for many reasons that go way beyond the mechanics of his golf swing.

Does Tiger ever shoot higher than a 74? That right there keeps him in every tournament. His short game is second to none. I think there are better ball strikers on tour, but Tiger gets it up and down from everywhere and kills par 5's. I think the two main things that help him win so much are CONFIDENCE and INTIMIDATION.

Guys see his name and that give Tiger at least 2 stroke advantage on Sunday. Look at how Phil and Sergio did at SD on Sunday. The guys that shoot the good scores are usually too far back to make much of a difference. Pucker factor helps Tiger big time!!!!

Some interesting answers as i suspected there would be. I totally agree about his mental game, short game, and intimidation factor. I also agree he's not the best ball striker on tour, but what I'm really wondering is what makes his swing Unique compared to others. I like the "athleticism" answer, but that's a pretty broad statement. Perhaps "clubface control" is it. With the speed he generates, it amazes me that he can square the face so well. (not all the time though)

The best thing that ever happened to him was getting the nickname "Tiger" - No one would be intimidated by "Eldred" The name itslef says it all.

Did you ever notice there are no other nicknames on tour. The Big Easy - does that scare you?

We need some more nicknames out there. For those of you who have young son's wh olook like they have potential now's the time......

Ray: I think it is Eldrick.

Maybe it has to do with the one-quarter Chinese, one-quarter Thai, one-quarter Black, one-eighth Native American, and one-eighth Dutch Tiger traces his roots to, but the big thing is he was marking 47 for 9 holes at the age of three. The early start and the dedication.

Of course he did . On the putting green :D. What a silly made up story. I don't doubt Earl Woods made these claims but it is ridiculous.
