Would you say that the better ball strikers on Tour are the ones who return closer to the original shaft plane at impact? It seems to me that many return above it, but the ones who return closer (Hogan and Singh come to mind) seem hit it better more often. Could you go a little more in depth on the differences between plane line and plane angle and how they effect ball flight?

Basically you have two choices, shift down from the turned shoulder plane to the elbow plane or go right down the turned shooulder plane.

They both have advantages.

Brian: As a coach how do YOU go about determining which one a player should choose? I am very interested in this as I was thinking of going from single to double shift. What are the advantages and disadvantages of both? Are you more likely to hit a pull with a single shift swing? Thanks.

Brady and Brian: It would seem to me that a double shift player would be more able to get to the original shaft plane than a single shift swinger. I would also expect to see a higher ball flight from a single shift than a double shift player? Am I correct ? Thanks.

Will a single shift create a more steeper downswing? The single shift seems more natural for me, and I don't feel coming from the top. However from the video it is always above the plane line when view from dwon the target line.
