I'm just curious about this "sit down" position. I love reading your pivot articles every once in a while because even though i know what i'm supposed to be doing, it is nice to see some pictures and some writing to reiterate it to me.

One thing that always alluded me was that feeling or sensation you talk about at the change of direction, this "sit down" position. Where it feels like you're going down to jump up to catch a rebound. I've never really felt that before.

Recently as my swinging procedure gets better and better and i'm becoming more confident with my swing, at the change of direction i actually feel this "sit down" position; with all my clubs. However the longer the club the bigger the sensation. I thought my might be "bobbing" up and down but when i had someone look at my swing they said my head hardly moved at all. Just a little to the right in the backswing and a little to the left in the foward swing.

Is this sit down sensation what you mean when you say to "use the ground?" Because the more i can feel that sensation the longer the ball goes LOL.

One of the better ways to engrain this is to start your downswing with a focus on moving your left knee to the target while keeping everything else fairly still and then unwinding through from that strong 'base'.

Yep, you'll really feel 'planted' when this move is done properly and you can 'push off' with the right foot through - for full 'support' of impact and a 'full body' lever.

Bertholy taught move the lead knee as Edz says, Austin teaches to plant the lead heel, either because the point is to move the weight from rear to front, the sit down is that transition.
