bringing tgm to the world

I wanted to start a discussion on what it is going to take to get this material in more people's hands. Is it more instructors teching it, is it more books getting out there in amateurs hands, is it more pros actually acknowledging that they use the book (dave, we are watching you[8)]), is it more players acknowledging the book, is it mass-marketing the book or the instructors toward joe six-pack (that would be me), I mean WHAT IS THE DEAL HERE?. Nothing is even in the same building as TGM and the list of instructors that teach TGM. I know Brian has run into resistance trying to get the credibility he deserves, and other guys have suffered prejudice (Ben Doyle) because they've carried the torch, but the fact is if there was aunified front, TGM could bulldoze the teaching industry. Anyone have any ideas?

This was the subject of my presentation at the Fist Golfing Summit, held this year in Birmingham, Alabama.

I will try to do a presentation on this material soon for this site.

Brian, I was at the summit, and you and guys like you are the FUTURE. This stuff has been around in it's present form long enough for us to realize it has to be translated to have broad appeal, or it will just gather dust.

Follow up for you Brian along the lines of translation. I have way better luck working the essentials before the imperatives. The golfers I teach have all heard balance rhythm & steady head before. once i set the hook on these points, then i feel better getting into the nuts & bolts of the imperatives, any ideas in addition to your presentation at the summit ( by the way i wore out 3 pencils there during your presentation)

I have thought about this a lot.The book is owned by Joe Daniels not an independantly owned TGM association so I would like to know what is in it for AIs to create an all for one one for all effort you are suggesting. It seems common sense to me that if TGM were owned by an association of all the Ais rather than any one AI be it Joe Daniels or ANYONE else for that matter it's chances of success would be better . I just don't see what the other AIs get out of promoting TGM when it's ownership is in the hands of one person.

Steve, I have gone through the archives on this site and am so totally in line with the thoughts you've offered. Hue, i think we have to adopt an "it is what it is" approach to the current ownership. There was a lot of the sentiment you've expressed out there during the Sally Kelley years as well. We all paid our dues knowing we were just keeping the faith. This is exactly what i'm driving at, there needs to be an internal grass roots drive from all the practitioners to push things forward. Many schools of thought say mass-marketing is the key, some say be conservative with the brand so the profile stays high and tight. What id like to know is what are the ideas that are out there, lets air them out and get this thing rolling like the steamroller it really is. I personally dont care how, i care that we get this done for the betterment of all of us and tgm.
