I think you will find this to be the case. I had a lot of problems hitting the ball fat when changing this is still work in progress . I had/ have but less so a nasty move half way down in the downswing where I would interupt my pure swinging motion with a straightening of the body combined with a straightening of the right arm with a deliberate right arm hit. The thrusting out of the right arm gave the "feeling" of extra power but in reality was costing me both direction and distance. I got used to an incorrect impact position with a longer right arm. When I worked on not shooting forward with the hips the the right arm still "wanted" to find it's normal position at impact and I hit fat shots. I had to retrain the right arms condition at impact by deliberately working on it at fix training in the "new" feeling and getting rid of the hit. It takes work but is well worth the effort. I my case wanting to give the ball a good lash was triggering the nasty moves so I also had to adjust my mind set into from give it a whack to do it right.quote:Originally posted by stick
