hmm...I found the Callaway ix to spin more that the Platinum (so the "i" would spin even more!). The Platinum was definitely shorter for driver and irons. Platinum just pierces the wind better for me. And with wedges, they go low and stop. Callaways fly higher.
The platinum was shorter because it spins more, i think you are misdiagnosing a "high flat (low spin) ball flight" as a high launch / high spin ball flight because otherwise the cally would not have been longer. The platinum does launch lower and spin more and ends up shorter but it may appear to spin less because the flight is lower which isn't accurate.
I think if you put yourself on a monitor you'd see this.
