Camera difference

Can anyone tell me what difference I would notice between the Casio FC100 and the FH-100?

The camera would be used for taping golf swing primarily.

I would say that you should look carefully at the specs and really think about how
you are going to use the camera. I am no expert, but I can tell you for sure that a bigger
camera is easier to hold steady and that the controls are easier to use. I would not exclude the FH-25 from consideration.

So if you are going to achieve the critical alignments, you really need a tripod. I would say this is true even if you have a helper operating the camera. I have read that the parallax phenomenon is minimized by placing the camera farther away and using the zoom feature. On the other hand, Brian whipped out his FH-20 and shot me from behind to show me a specific thing with my clubface at the top.
Unclear whether the FC-100 and/or the FH-100 have a mount for a tripod. If you are going to use camera in the role of instructor, then logically you should use the cameras they use.

You need to use Shutter Priority mode. The FC-100 lists only AE Program, whereas the
FH-100 shows Shutter Priority available.

The size of the LCD matters, FC-100 is 2.7, FH-100 is 3.0.

Optical Zoom - Smaller cameras are 10X, FH-25 is 20X

Batteries - FC-100 uses a Lithium Ion. You may need to buy an extra.
FH-25 uses common batteries.

If portability is your issue, then from the specs it appears that the FH-100 has the better specs.

No contest. The FH100 is better in just about every aspect as it should. It is the latest model and it has a backlit sensor. The FC100 does not.

I wouldn't buy any camera that doesn't have a backlit sensor. They are so much better in low light and that's important in the high speed modes.

Exactly what I was looking for. Most of my personal swing work is done in the cold garage in the winter to light may be an issue.

FH-100 or FH-25?

Can the experts on the forum offer one more opinion as to the better model for golf swings?

Thanks.

Even with the FH100 high speed videos will be darker indoors. They have improved sensitivity but not a quantum leap.I suggest keeping to 120fps when filming indoors and get some halogen lights.

This is another big advantage over the FC100 which doesn't have 120fps.It starts at 240fps and this is simply way too dark indoors unless you light up the room with barrage of halogen lights.

The FH25 is better again in low light. It has the same sensor as the FH100 but it sports a faster F2.8 lens compared to F3.2.It also has 20X zoom compared to 10X.Good for when you place the camera far away and then zoom in to minimize parallax.

One is pocketable but the other is not so you have to weigh up the pros and cons.
