Camera Position

Hi all,

After filming my swing today at the range I discovered moving the camera from behind the ball(DTL) to further behind me makes a huge difference in the look of the swing plane. When analysing your swing where should the camera be positioned Ive heard several diiferent places, down the foot line, inbetween the ball and the feet and down the ball target line. Which one is correct as Ive said it makes a huge difference to the way your swing looks.

Cheers

I would try to position it right where the club reaches 1st parallel, since 1st and last parallel's are two of the most looked at positions from (DTL). Just hold the club at the first parallel position. Make sure you're parallel to the ground and the target line and put the camera where it confirms this.

I would add this to ms1170's comment...where the club should reach first parallel...this is of course subject to debate...but camera at hand height, aiming straight over the toes (assuming square stance) is a good place to start...

One other tip (I also like hands high camera height) - place a box on the ground to the side of where you are swinging. Ideally you can just see the the back of the box and not one of the sides. This ensures, to a reasonable extent, that you are square to the camera lens. It's by no means perfect, but works for most people.
