ok...Once and for all:

IMPACT HAND LOCATION PROCEDURE: Where the hands LOOK like they are and more imprortantly FEEL LIKE they are at impact. (you shouldn't be looking at anything but the inside-aft quadrant of the ball EXCEPT in LOOK,LOOK,LOOK practice motions)

AIMING POINT: The Spot on the ground and THROUGH THE GROUND that you NEED to direct your LAG LOADING at so that you get to the IMPACT HAND LOCATION.

MANZELLA SIMPLIFIES: Aiming Point is a spot on the ground that your hands WOULD HIT if they came off in the 'throw'...IMPACT HAND location is ON that "track".

This pic is perfect. Ok, from where you are at in that pic what part of teh hands are you thinking of delivering to that point on the ground? The bottom of the laft hand or what? And are you literally thinking of taking the hands to the ground in your mind and feel?

Thanks

The #3 Pressure Point.

Yes. (Just don't "eat the ground" [i.e. let your body 'go' toward the ball])...the right shoulder goes toward the ball, but the left side goes the OPPOSITE way!

Thanks...I really never feel #3, so I guess I should learn.

wanole....

Take any club you want and tie a towel around the hosel.

Now setup to the ball with your impact alignments but put the club on the ground about 2-3 feet behind. Use your pivot to "drag" the club into impact and you will feel a very "heavy" sensation on your #3 PP

I do that with my weighted club and feel it (in slow mo), but I just can't feel it with a normal club. I may have to swing at normal speed with the weighted club and see if I can feel that.

It might be the setup of your clubs possibly wanole? I have off the shelf irons with a swing wight of D0 and i can feel it but not as well as i'd like. Just been fitted for new irons and they're going to be D3-D4. Hopefully they'll help me.

6 month old fitted Mizuno's. I ahve so many things going through my
mind when I swing it's hard to think about #3, so maybe if I try thinking only on that then I can feel it. I will have to try.

ok....here's another tip:

Instead of using the fleshy pad on the lowest part of your index finger MOVE the pressure point.

Trigger that index finger so that more of the TIP of your finger is on the back of that shaft. This will create a "better" feeling of it. John Daly hooks his index finger this way if you watch for it.

Vijay also does, but only on PUTTING. I wonder if he figured out to use his PP#3 to guide the putter head.

Ok...to clarify...

Your index finger has three 'sections' above the first knuckle (1st knuckle closest to the palm)...are you saying to put the back of the grip into the joint between the 1st (closest to the palm) and middle 'section?'

I switched to that this winter and it feels awesome. Keeps the club more in your fingers...if I do my old way, it feels like I'm gripping a baseball bat.

birdie:

correct, there are 3 sections to your finger.

section 1
section 2
section 3

Everything i type below is ASSUMING SECTION 3 IS THE ONE NEAR YOUR PALM AND BIG KNUCKLE where the "normal" #3pp is.

What i am saying to wanole is to put his section #1 (tip part of the finger) as the #3 pp for the "biggest feel" so he can learn it.

You can use section 1,2, or 3. I personally use section 1 or 2 most of the time

Homer said that the aiming point is where you are directing the thrust of the hands (#3 pressure pt.) along the base of the plane line.Further forward with the shorter clubs.
