cannot keep tailbone ahead of neckbone

on downswing...unless i sway my head over my right foot and feel like i keep it there throughout whole swing.

any ideas please?

look in the mirror during the downswing. Instead of right hand slapping the ball (pull) try to see if you can pull the down the shaft along your plane line. You would need your tailbone to be ahead of your neckbone.

You are probably trying to kill it. Learn to use your pivot. I used to be in the same boat. Maybe try NHA2.0, I love it as it keeps my lower body more quiet.

Most likely it is because of an open clubface; rarely have i have someone with decent clubface control have problems with axis tilt through the ball. From memory you fight an OTT move and fades yes?

i have a slightly closed clubface..yes..i have always fought getting ott...might have something to do with lifting towards end of bs and right leg straightening a bit?

open clubface as in what? I don't understand this. Do you mean open club face from the top or you open it when you take away, or you open it on the downswing? What does it apply when you say open clubface?

medici,
You have PM...

Cure lifting with left side compression on backswing.....right leg straightening is not a problem

Medi, i'll be PMing in a minute as well. He definately ends his backswing with a lift and then has an out of sequence downswing. I still have no idea why he wants to start his downswing with his right shoulder going down. Its not for everybody. I'd be a 10 handicap if I did that.

essentially at some point the face is too open whether it is backswing, downswing, or both. If the face is too open and you have a bunch of axis tilt through the ball you are either going to shank it or push the hell out of it. Your brain reacts by round housing you and limiting your axis tilt so you can get the face square enough to hit it where you want it to go

Kevin,
Medici feels he has a big OTT problem...therefore the right shoulder down (initially) hopefully to cure that...

Yeah, ive seen his swing. He doesnt have an OTT problem. Ive told him what I thought. He's been trying to do one move for a year and cant. At what point do you think maybe that isnt the issue?

thanks for all your replies. i can shift my weight and feel like i shift my head over my right foot then keep it there throughout the ds which seems to work a bit better but i dont know if this will be inconsistent becuase of the lateral movement.

hitting it terrible...pulls...push cuts...and still getting across the line even though my takeaway is pretty good and my swing isnt too long!!

flippin game

Sorry Kevin you lost me.....what isn't the issue?....

Yeah, I know. That post was a quickie. I guess what im saying is Medi has posted his swing for some time and we should all admire the determination, first off. However, its been the same thing for a year....cant get any tilt, no right shoulder down, etc. It seems to me he is trying to do something his swing isnt programmed to do. Meaning, we shouldnt be talking about downswing fixes. Anybody with any ability at all should be able to at least once on video shove their right shoulder downplane and get some tilt, but he cant. IMO, his backswing will never allow it. Thats all im saying. We shouldnt be telling him any more downswing thoughts.
