Chad Campbell Swing Analysis

Does anybody want to take a crack at this guy? I really like certain aspects of his swing, and hear that his ballstriking gets quite a bit of respect from other tour players.

I could only find a few positional shots, but wasn't able to get at any swing sequences. If anyone's got a sequence or some face on swing shots, I'd liek to see them.

Cheers!

great

Thanks guys, it was good to have a look. His backswing is not quite as flat as I originally thought; still makes it pretty much to the TSP.

His swing is all about lag, and he does get very compressed and flat in the second half of his backswing. It's a good swing for an unathletic person. Just make a little turn and lag it out there. Guys like Campbell, Micheel, Scott Hoch, etc. look like they can't break 100 at first glance but they sure do get the clubface square on a very regular basis.

I know for a fact that he spent some time with an AI who works with a tour winner. He lacks patience and commitment, and hit one bad shot and gave up - destined to be "streaky". Nothing wrong with that - but "everything is a tradeoff" (I read that somewhere). I have a fair amount of experience with championship golf, and for many players the one failing is this issue - players can't let go of ball behavior long enough to effect substantive change.

GREAT!

Here is a guy that the "hover over the ball: fad would RUIN quick.

Very Hogan-like. Great elbow plane move through the ball. REAL GOOD Footwork.

Did Chad Cambell even beat Tiger head to head one time, or am I crazy. Either way, his swing looks like not a lot can go wrong with it.
