I've been at it a year experimenting with hitting and swinging. I finally committed to swinging. I've read the book three times and consider myself to be at a 9th grade level. Without the forums I'd be in the 3rd grade.

As for my ball striking ability. I'd say I've really come on in the last few weeks. The single biggest improvement came when I really understood keeping the swing on the proper plane and the flying wedges (right forearm stuff).

I can't even imagine ever taking a lesson from anyone other than a AI and hope to do so when I have time to travel.

I've had the book for a little over a year now and think I'm getting most of it by now (I'm reading it for the third time at the moment). My ballstriking especially with the irons is way way better. My handicap haven't gone down though, but that's because of a climbing injury and my second child coming in the middle of the season. Consistency is much better and I see big improvements coming with more training and even more understanding of TGM.
We don't have AIs here so Brian and Yoda are my net instructors. I would love to go and have real lessons though.

Since the last century, 1999.
In the last two years, the results have been fantastic. In the last year - even better. I love my ball flight. But the gane isn't just a swing, but it feels so much better when you are the only one not stomping around in the woods looking for their ball, that you are waiting in the fairway ready to hit. Less fog in the middle.
