A sports talk radio guy from DC who is an avid golfer put some slo-mo video he took of he and his buddies' swings with this camera on his website. From my untrained eye, I could not see any difference in quality between the video from this camera and CBS' Swingvision. Truly amazing.

simply the best

The best camera for filming the golf swing full piont.

would like to know how long you can film with this. Maybe it only does a golf swing. It is clearly not a camcorder.

Nice camera, shame about the rest

300 fps is enough and gives a good view of what´s going on even in the DS, no everyday need for the 600 or 1200 fps modes.
Ok planning impact "hacker research" close-ups with 1200 fps hehe... digging it out of the dirt in 1200 fps... In 300 fps a swing is about 2,5-3 MB after cutting, 5-6 MB of course for DTL and FO. The interested weekend tinkerer´s dream... even with limited knowledge you can gain an insight or two... ok it still looks 99% crap...

I´d rather send my EX-F1 clips to an instructor (and get a kind written word or two in return for #100) than dry swing dancing in the middle of the night in front of a web camera...need someone like a gentle old Harvey Penick of the Web Age...

You can add a memory card to the camera and it will hold lots of swing clips. It really is no problem. Most notebook pcs have SD card readers or you can get a usb interface for cheap and remove the card from the camera and insert into your PC then download the clips. The camera is extremly simply to use for video recording. Lots of good clips on youtube YouTube - NEW CASIO EX-F1 VIDEOS! (03.23.08). I sent Brian a clip of my son a few weeks ago and he was impressed with the camera.

How many MB's for a swing in 600 and 1200 fps modes ? Estimates are OK.

I want to know the suitability for sending (the best possible quality) swing files by e-mail.

Cutting down is needed but easy

600 fps a little less than 2x 300 fps
1200 fps less than 4x 300 fps
ie 5-10 MB per sequence
The resolution is lower at higher speeds
For my needs 300 fps is optimal

IF you buy the camera you need to spend another $100 and purchase a 1gb SDK memory card. The card also makes it easy to pop out of the camera into your PC for easy transfer.
Download the free version of the V1 golf software and you can draw plane lines, circles, etc. on your video.
