The old adage is.....chip like you putt.

Well I putt with both thumbs down the shaft with reverse overlap grip.

When I chip with this grip I can't seem to get enough acceleration and I'll flub it or hit it dead right. That is from a good lie.

Tougher lie forget about it.

Any thoughts?

well when you chip you should probly ahve a forward leaning shaft, whereas putting you might not

the only time i use my putting grip is chipping with the hybrid. otherwise i take a normal grip and let the club drop down on the ball....the club not the hands. hands and arms are pretty dead feeling wise. good luck!

then don't use that grip for chipping

on another note, having your thumbs down the shaft and/or a reverse overlap grip doesn't have any influence on the action of either wrist

Doesn't have any influence?

Meaning is the same as a regular golf grip?

Or doesn't let the wrists participate in the stroke?
