Clarification on body swing and arm swing

Hi all,

I am a little confused on the difference between the arm swing and the body swing. My swing has been what I would call a body swing, but when I now think about it Im not quite sure. I feel like from the top I turn my entire body including the hips/waist together, arms, chest shoulders, club ect causing pull hooks and slices. Tonight I went to the range and tried what I thought was an arm swing which is from the top I just swing my arms and shoulders together across my body and to the left with more passive hips and legs and I hit the ball higher and much straighter including push draws which I never hit. Have I been confusing what I thought was an arm swing for an actual correct swing? Kind of feels like my back stays facing the target a little longer as the right shoulder moves straight down while the arms pass in front of me without actually holding the shoulders back. The follow through seems more cut off aswell by the torque applied to the left knee stopping the hips over rotating as than with the body swing where I was facing well well left of the target. Any comments welcome!
